Takako's Biography

Takako in Santa Fe

Born and raised in Japan she designed and manufactured her own jewelry there. Always one to follow her own goals, she traveled, studied and lived her own personally chosen lifestyle. Wanting to live in America all of her life, she visited Sedona Arizona, Taos and Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1997. Everyone she met loved her beautiful and unique jewelry. Although speaking very little English but with a very strong desire, she decided to make the move. Returning home, she made the necessary preparations, said goodbye to her family and friends and one month later was back in America, to make it her home. Her unique story was featured in News Week magazine. 

Her name, a gift from her father, means kindness and love. In her heart is sunshine and when she creates a piece of jewelry these parts of her are in each work of art.

"Each gem stone has a power. That power when connected with the right person makes their life richer.  When I hold the gem stone in my hands I visualize a design for just that stone. With my jewelry designs I wish for the gemstone to become a Cinderella. My passion is for the gemstone and the person to connect and by wearing my jewelry, bring out all the joy, happiness and beauty in that person.” - Takako.
